Welcome to My Fundraising Page
We know that the issue of hunger is big, but thankfully, our community is bigger. Please step up to the plate and help make an impact on hunger in Greater Hartford by donating to the 37th Annual Foodshare Walk Against Hunger.
Your support will provide immediate relief for families struggling with hunger. It will also support long-term efforts to promote health, stabilize lives and address underlying issues that contribute to hunger. Last year alone, Foodshare was able to provide enough food for more than 11 million meals to help our friends and neighbors in Greater Hartford. One-third of that food was fresh produce, giving families healthy options. In supporting the Foodshare Walk Against Hunger, you will allow this important work to continue.
Over the last handful of years I have been inspired by many individuals who have crossed my path to extend a hand of compassion towards those with less. Through personal experiences I was able to witness the kindness of others when I was in a time of need for food, shelter and support through difficult times. I have witnessed what a big effect even small contributions can have in a movement and wanted to play my part in supporting this walk against hunger that my school (MCC)l is partaking in.
My greatest inspiration and influence for this movement was when i was experiencing it first hand during late spring into the fall of 2018. I was living out of my car, roaming between upstate new york and florida, camping or sleeping on friends, family or strangers couches. I was blessed to have an opprutunity to volunteer on an organic homestead for 3-months which instilled a stronger sense of compassion for my fellow humans and gave me the mental healing to get back on track with my life, that was spiraling downwards in the wrong direction.
Here is my small contribution to this movement and I hope that you can share just a small, tiny portion as well. Much love to you all and have a blessed season ahead.
